Latency Busters® Messaging (LBM) is a fast, efficient, and lightweight messaging system targeted specifically at high-performance applications. Its many unique design features make it particularly well-suited for applications with very high message rates.

One of the primary design principles of LBM is not to duplicate services provided by the underlying network. LBM is designed so that message routing is done primarily by the network infrastructure, and not by higher-level message routing software. In addition, latency is minimized by reducing the number of hops that a message must pass through. This is done by eliminating messaging daemons and central messaging servers.

This new design has been realized without sacrificing the functionality that applications have come to expect: topic-based publish/subscribe messaging, request/response messaging, flexible event handling, reliable message transports, a high degree of scalability, statistics gathering, etc.

LBM software is being used in a wide range of applications, from high-speed financial market data distribution systems to high-performance cluster computing applications.

System designers have often had to choose between traditional expensive daemon-based messaging products, low-performance JMS products, or if their performance requirements are high, attempting to write their own messaging layer.
